Frequently asked questions
Thai massage uses gentle pressure and stretching techniques to relax the whole body. It is an ancient healing practice that has many health benefits, from lowering stress to relieving muscular tension. It can even increase energy.
The traditional Thai massage is different from Western massages as it mainly focuses on circulation and pressure points. It is also considered a healing massage because it is used to treat muscle problems while it clears energy blockages, restores balance, and strengthens the body.
While a person of any age can get a Thai massage, it is not appropriate for everybody. People with certain health conditions, such as high blood pressure, cancer or cardiovascular disease, should check with their healthcare provider before getting a Thai massage. If you are pregnant or have just undergone surgery, a different type of massage treatment may be better for you than traditional Thai.
Your massage therapist will ask what pressure you prefer before your massage begins. During the massage we will ask if the pressure is okay or if you would like it adjusted. Our trained massage therapists can adjust the intensity and pressure to suit your needs.
Please let your therapist know if the pressure if not right, and your therapist will check throughout the massage to make sure it is the right pressure for you.

You do not need to prepare for a Thai massage in advance, but please arrive about 10 minutes early so there is enough time to talk to your therapist about your expectations and potentially your medical history. After the massage, we recommend you drink plenty of water. We also encourage our customers to try and incorporate stretching and relaxation techniques in their daily lives as it has fantastic benefits.

There are no exact guidelines for how often a person should get a massage. Some people come to see us every week, where others prefer it occasionally. What we do recommend is for you to incorporate daily maintenance routines that involve stretching and relaxation techniques. It will help you remain flexible for a long time after your massage.
